2 pounds round or Swiss steak, cut
into ¾-inch thick slices

 Salt and freshly ground black pepper,
to taste

 1 large onion, thinly sliced

 1 (16-ounce) can tomatoes with juice

Cut round steak into serving-sized pieces
and season with salt and pepper. Place
in the slow cooker with the sliced onion.
Pour the tomatoes over all. Cover with
