Pot roast recipe Ingredients


2 to 3 potatoes, peeled and sliced

2 to 3 carrots, peeled and sliced

1 to 2 onions, sliced

1 (3- to 4-pound) beef brisket, rump
roast, or pot roast

Salt and freshly ground black pepper,
to taste

½ cup beef consommé or water

Put the vegetables in the slow cooker.
Season the meat with salt and pepper and
place it on top of the vegetables. Add the
consommé. Cover with the lid and cook
on low for 10 to 12 hours, or on high for
4 to 5 hours. Remove the roast to a deep
serving platter and slice it before serving.
Surround it with the vegetables and
cooking juices
