BBQ’d Chicken Recipe
BBQ’d Chicken Recipe Ingredients
1 (3- to 4-pound) roasting chicken,
skinned and cut into serving pieces
1 stalk celery, chunked
1 small onion, chunked
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup chicken broth or water
¼ cup vinegar
1 to 2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and freshly ground black pepper,
to taste
BBQ’d Chicken Recipe cooking Process
Place the chicken in the slow cooker with
2 cups water, the celery, and the onion.
Cover with the lid and cook on high for
4 to 6 hours, or on low for 6 to 8 hours.
Remove the chicken from the slow cooker
and set aside. Discard the water, celery,
and onion.
Return the chicken to the slow cooker.
Make a barbecue sauce by combining the
ketchup, broth, vinegar, soy sauce, brown
sugar, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Pour the sauce over the chicken, and
continue cooking, covered, on low for 2
hours more, or until the chicken is very
