Roast Beef Recipe
Roast Beef Recipe Ingredients
1 (3- to 4-pound) sirloin tip beef roast,
trimmed of excess fat
1 (1.3-ounce) onion soup seasoning
packet
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 medium-sized onions, sliced into rings
6 cloves garlic, peeled
1 (12-ounce) bottle beer
½ teaspoon crushed oregano
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons fl our
1 teaspoon browning and seasoning
sauce, or to taste
Roast Beef Recipe Cooking Process
Season the roast on all sides with the
seasoning. Heat the oil in a large skillet
over medium heat and brown the roast
on all sides. Transfer the roast to the slow
cooker. Surround the roast with the onions
and garlic. Pour in the beer and add the
oregano, Worcestershire sauce, and bay
leaf. Cover with the lid and cook on low
for 8 to 10 hours. Remove the roast to a
warm serving platter and cover with foil.
Meanwhile, increase the heat to high or
transfer the cooking liquid to a saucepan
on the stove. Remove and discard the bay
leaf and remove the garlic cloves. Combine
½ cup water and the fl our and whisk
until smooth. Add to the juices, stirring
and cooking to make a gravy. Add the
browning and seasoning sauce to enrich
the fl avor. Slice and serve the beef with
the gravy.
