Lentil and Rice Soup - Lentil Soup Recipe Ingredients
2 (16-ounce) cans tomatoes with juice
1 (12-ounce) can tomato paste
2 cups uncooked lentils
2 cups uncooked long-grain rice
2 medium-sized onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and freshly ground black pepper,
to taste
Lentil and Rice Soup - Lentil Soup Recipe Cooking Process
Put the tomatoes with juice and the tomato
paste in the slow cooker. Add 8 cups
water and stir well. Stir in the remaining
ingredients. Cover with the lid and cook
on low for 8 to 10 hours, or on high for
4 to 6 hours, until the lentils are soft and
the rice is tender. Adjust seasonings, if
necessary.
