                                                                      Braised Beef Recipe

Makes 6 servings
Serve with a potato dish of your choice and a fresh vegetable or salad.

Braised Beef Recipe Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 pounds lean boneless beef, cut into
1-inch cubes, trimmed of excess fat

4 cups chopped onion

4 cups chopped carrots

1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup dry red wine

1 bay leaf

1 teaspoon crushed oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Braised Beef Recipe Cooking Process

Salt and freshly ground black pepper,
to taste
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium
heat and sauté the beef and cook the
onions until transparent. Transfer to the
slow cooker and place the carrots and
garlic on top. Pour in the wine and add
the seasonings. Cover with the lid and
cook on low for at least 6 hours, until the
meat is very tender. Add additional wine
or water, if necessary. Remove the bay leaf
before serving.
